Chapter 21

I took a lot longer than needed. Actually, I took another shower because with him this close my senses were wolf and I could smell him all over me. I worked at ignoring the activity that buzzed in the link while under the shower. The smell wasn’t much better after the shower because I’d used his soap but at least it wasn’t the smell of his body on me.

When I finally got out of the bathroom, I realized I should have paid attention. Kayden, Grub and three other guys from school were sitting on the couch. The moment I walked out they stopped talking and one fool actually said. “Holy crap. Is that our new human? Lucky bastard is doing her too, is he? And you had a piece of that before school, Kay?”

Kayden and Dylan tried to say something but I beat them to the punch. “I’ll sort this.” They looked on with something resembling respect as I walked right up to the idiot. “Name?” I snapped. They knew by now that I settled things like a Were, in other words I fought for dominance in an argument.

“Jordan.”

“Get up, Jordan.” I said as I walked to the open area near the door. I was happy that Dylan didn’t have a lot of stuff. Jordan followed and the other guys were close behind. He was right behind me when I turned and he’d been looking at my behind. He staggered back as my fist connected with his jaw.

“Jordan. If you want to try and fight back that’s fine. But I am gonna beat bejeeezes outta you regardless of what you do. You see, I had a really bad day. I had to come here because our teacher is also my alpha and he’s the only one that could help me this morning.”

Jordan shook off my punch and straightened up. I punched him again and he blocked me but not holding back I kicked him in the ribs almost simultaneously, I heard a nice crack. It was the same move I’d used with Kayden several weeks before.

“I did not ‘do’ our teacher as you so kindly put it. And if it should ever happen that Kayden gets a piece off this. . .” I hit him in a fast series of punches and kicks but he only managed to block half without fighting back. “It’ll be over my dead body!”

“Hey bitch, you might have showered but they didn’t. Kay came in late with a stupid grin and reeked off you. And teach here had a fair bit of you on him this morning but now he smells of you all over and the whole place smells of heat.”

I attacked him again with more vigour but he still didn’t fight back. Defending yourself is easier if you can fight back and he was starting to show some wear and tear.

“Guess you didn’t smell the dirt from the alley they found me in? What sort of freaking mutt are you? I could even smell the dirt on me.
